You Can Increase Cardio Endurance Through Plyometric Training |
How does Plyometric training and Weight Training affect your endurance? Many
people believe that your cardiovascular capacity dictates your endurance.
However, muscular strength seems to improve endurance regardless of
cardiovascular capacity. Researchers in Finland* studied running performance
and plyometrics, and found that plyometric training improved running performance
in 5000 meter runs. Plyometrics strengthens the muscles, allowing you to run
with less effort at higher speeds. Jumpsoles training is a great
cardiovascular workout and can not only get you jumping higher, but also running
faster and longer.

Medicine Ball
Squat
1) Grasp
medicine ball and hold out in front of you. 2) Start position: Stand with
feet slightly wider than hip width apart. Knees should be slightly bent. 3)
Lower body by flexing at the hips and knees. Upper body can flex forward at the
hips slightly (~5°) during movement. Be sure to “sit back” so that knees stay
over the feet. 4) Once thighs are parallel to floor, return to start
position. 5) Remember to keep head and back straight in a neutral position -
hyperextension or flexion may cause injury. Keep weight over the middle of foot
and heel, not the toes.
